In early 2020 Homefab will roll out a new innovative steel framing system, this will allow Homefab to manufacture a new standard in steel wall frames and trusses for North Queensland.

Utilizing our 30+ years of experience, with new machinery incorporating the latest technology, Homefab will offer its innovative system to North Queensland and all cyclonic regions throughout Australia.

This new system at Homefab will allow us to continue the supply of all our current offerings with increased strength and new modified fixing system which allows quicker installation time giving greater efficiency’s meaning less time spent on site.

The new machinery gives Homefab clients the choice of 70mm and 90mm profiles together with the option of Inline or back to back Trusses enabling Homefab to supply to the residential and commercial building and construction industries.

Our wall studs and truss webs will utilise a lipped (“C”) profile for added strength, allowing for walls to be made higher than 3600mm, providing an advantage when fabricating raking walls whilst top and bottom wall plates and truss cords will also take advantage of the same profile for increased strength.

In addition to the new profile, all wall studs are swaged (crimped) at each end, creating a flush surface when fixing internal sheeting, skirting and cornice.

Onsite assembly will be more efficient for the builder with all connections flush (dimpled) and pre punched to incorporate the new screw fix system. Wall to wall connections have pre – punched holes eliminating the need for the screw to cut its way through to save both time and effort.

These improvements will help to reduce on site labour costs while providing a smooth finish at all connection points.

Our new machinery will also allow us to give clients other options such as slotted holes for wall stud to top plate connection allowing for slight adjustment of the wall height on site.

It also allows for various types of wall bracing to be used allowing C3 & C4 cyclone ratings to be achieved.
